About Ashton Grange EMI Care Home

Ashton Grange Nursing Home aims to provide its Service Users with a secure, relaxed, and homely environment in which their care, well being and comfort are of prime importance.
We aim to deliver and achieve our philosophy of care through programmes of activities designed to encourage mental alertness, self esteem, and social interactions with other Service Users and with recognition of the following core values of care which are fundamental to the philosophy of our home. We offer specialist Nursing care for people with Dementia and other Mental Health issues.

We are a 31-bed establishment specializing in dementia nursing care and end of life palliative care. We look at the holistic needs of each individual in our care and to this end our nursing care is tailored to each patient's needs.

If you are looking for an outstanding EMI nursing home in the West Sussex area, our facility is capable of delivering total quality care and we have many years of experience in looking after those with dementia.

In March 2013 this Horsham Nursing Home added 6 new luxury ground floor en suite rooms and a large conservatory overlooking a delightful garden at the rear of the property.

In August 2013 of the same year the Dementia Nursing Home in Horsham opened a new kitchen which helped facilitate our high standards of cuisine. The Horsham Nursing Home followed this up shortly afterwards with a basement laundry facility with new equipment.

Residents' families are consulted together with any medical notes prior to admission to Ashton grange. This allows the staff to assess the resident’s individual needs, as well their likes and dislikes, and a “This is Me” document is completed with the resident or relatives so we gain more information about the resident and can make the care needs specific to the resident and their surroundings. This is communicated to all the day and night care staff at Ashton Grange Nursing. The family are free to bring any furniture, pictures and paintings that the resident would like in order for them to feel as comfortable in their new surroundings as possible. A change in environment is difficult for anyone, and this a difficult time for someone with dementia so we ensure that we have everything in place before they are admitted to make it homely and holistic to their care. It is important to make each resident’s room as familiar as possible in order to ensure a smooth transition between their old home and Ashton Grange Nursing Home. Common areas are decorated in a warm and homely manner with old pictures of Horsham, which also assists in providing residents with a familiar environment.
