Ashton Grange Nursing Home has a very experienced staff team a number of whom have been with the home a number of years.

Joseph Kallamplakal

REGISTERED MANAGER

Joseph has been employed at Ashton Grange for over 8 years and was the previous manager' Deputy manager. Joseph is a registered nurse and has taken over the role of Registered manager and is now registered with the CQC and a member of the NMC with a valid PIN. Joseph leads a team of qualified nurses that are experienced in elderly care with and without dementia. Joseph works in the care sector for last 21 years

Nursing Staff

The home has nursing care 24 hours per day. There is a nurse on shift at all times of the day, night and weekends. All our nurses are trained to a high standard to complete nursing duties for catheterisation, venepuncture, wound care, verification of death. They liaise with GP surgery , mental health team, ambulance service, and other multi-disciplinary team in time .

Senior carers

Senior carers work on the floor each day, monitoring the floor and the junior staff, so they know that the care is being given to a high standard and home is running smoothly. This includes our night staff as well as the day staff. At Ashton Grange there are different types of trained staff from QCF levels 2, 3 and 5 as well as Non-NHS Band 4 staff who are training to become a nurse in the UK. All our Senior care staff have undergone rigorous training so that they are able to she person centred care and that they act as role models for the junior members of the team.

Carers

All carers work with senior carers they are there to care for the residents and ensure they are looked after to a high standard. They are always respectful and maintains sympathy and empathy during their work. They are all reliable and very caring. All the team maintains the safety of each residents in the care home.

Here at Ashton Grange have three activity staff and they do a variety of activities either group activities or one to one, we have Val who likes to work with the residents in the lounge playing bingo, skittles, sound bingo, ball games, arm chair exercises, sing alongs. Val works in Ahtongrange for last 13 years.

Then we have Aiko, who works with the residents in the rooms on a one-to-one basis, either reading books to them, playing cards, scrabble and doing sensory activities as well as garden works with some residents . Lini works alongside Val and Aiko to ensure that residents remain stimulated during the day. During special occasions they do arts and crafts with the residents completing Easter eggs, Christmas cards, making flowers and many more activities to keep our residents stimulated. As all our residents have varying degrees of dementia, they do a lot of reminiscence work to help the residents with their recall of memories. They also like to do pamper sessions in the home, from top to toe. The residents enjoy this type of activity, and it relaxes them.

Sanda Ile

Cook

Sanda Ile is the main cook at Ashton Grange, she prepares fresh food every day, and caters for a variety of diets, and she keeps herself updated of the variety of diets that residents come into the home with. She changes the menus on a regular basis and ensure the residents are asked what they like to eat and what they would like to add to the menu. She is responsible for keeping the kitchen to a high standard. Sanda and her team are responsible for Ashton Grange maintaining our 5-star rating by Environmental Health.

Housekeepers

Ashton Grange have a dedicated team of housekeepers that are committed to ensure the home is of a high standard of cleanliness and that on-site laundry staff keep the residents well groomed with freshly washed and ironed clothing daily.

Bittu Sebastian

Home Maintenance Man

Bittu is the home' maintenance man and works 5 days a week ensuring that maintenance issues are rectified as soon as possible and liaising with outside contractors.
